Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Fast service, home made tasting Mexican food, and great prices!! I wish they did not use plastic forks and plates! But the food is great! Great place to come and pick up your food to take home!

The poster who said its better than Tasty Tacos is LOCO DE LA CABASA Linas is a 24hr spot so I judge it on a lower bar than an actual restaurant. If you have ever eaten at Abelarados this is basically just your Des Moines Southside option. The chicken is soggy and the steak is tough and fatty. They gave me generous amounts of steak on my taco but I ended up spitting about a quarter of it out because it was chewy fatty pieces. There are not too many late night options open on the Southside so if its between McDonalds, BK, or Lina's... its the place to go. But middle of the day... go somewhere else.

I eat here literally at least 5 times per week. I LOVE the carne asada quesadilla with their red sauce. The red sauce is spiced perfectly. A little heat but excellent flavor. What impresses me most about Lina's is the consistency. They're open 24/7 which is a huge plus for those of us that work the night shift. Bottom line, this place puts Tasty Tacos and Abelardo's to shame.

Great breakfast that they serve all day. Also great Mexican food with very generous portions for pretty cheap. We eat a lot of takeout from Lina's at the firehouse and everyone there loves it.

Great food. Steak and egg breakfast burrito is amazing and I usually eat one a week with their green salsa. I always add potatoes to this breakfast burrito. Adobada is the hidden gem, it is marinated pork and is amazing! I've had the adobada burrito and taco and both are good. Fish taco is also pretty good. Tortillas for the burritos are amazing. Tortilla for the tacos are good but if you don't eat right away they can start to fall apart. Tacos still great eating with a fork though. All food tastes fresh and served super hot - they appear to make everything to order. Place is open 24/7 and always serves breakfast! Can't beat it!

I grew up in the San Diego area and have been waiting for a spot like this to open in the Des Moines area for a long time. This is the stuff I grew up with. The carne asada burritos are the bomb, fish tacos are incredible, machaca is also outstanding. Everything is made fresh to order, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is always nice. I can't say enough good things about Lina's. Give 'em a try and see for yourself.

Love it for breakfast. Homemade tortillas. Homemade green chili salsa. I usually get the country burrito.
